‘Butch’ Dow, 70, of St. Helen

Michael Bartholomew “Butch” Dow, age 70, of St. Helen, died on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his home in the presence and comfort of his family.

Butch was born January 6, 1952, in Hamilton, Ontario, the son of Frank and Audrey (Ditner) Dow. He married Phyllis Mays in 1974.

Butch was a trucker for Reliable Carriers for over forty years, and enjoyed traveling and seeing the sights of the road. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and riding his snowmobile and dune buggy. He also enjoyed working on cars (especially hot rods) and putting together models in his spare time.

Butch will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Phyllis; son Michael (Marnie) Dow; daughter Kimberly (David) Dow; grandchildren Samantha Dow, Breanna Dow, Mitchell Hitchcock, Sarah Lukowski, and Matt Lukowski; great-grandchildren Nolan, Nathaniel, Danny, Bobby, and Autumn; sister Donna Beard; close friends Mark Sisco and Bev Forrester; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and close friends Larry Opperman, Hector Rodriguez, and Leonard and Skeet LaBean.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 2794 West Maplehurst Drive, Roscommon at 1:00 PM. Masks will be required.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Butch’s name to the family for future designation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
