Sheila Lynn Tennant, 65, of Houghton Lake

Sheila Lynn Tennant, 65, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday December 5, 2021 at her home.

Sheila was born on March 2, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to William Lee Tennant and Wanda Louise Wall. She grew up in the Flint area and graduated from Beecher Community Schools. In 1985 Sheila moved to Roscommon County and worked as a Retail Clerk and continued her education as a Massage Therapist and Cosmetologist. Sheila was a member of the Roscommon Baptist Church, TOPS, Roscommon Women’s Pool League, and served two years as VP of the Houghton Lake JC’s.  

Surviving Ms. Tennant are her children; Melissa (Tommy) Shead of Manton, Nelson (Ivy) Toomey of South Boardman, Denise (Joe) Kappen of Houghton Lake, and Robert Crowe of Carson City; two brothers, Steven Tennant of Burton, and Clayton Tennant of Lapeer. She is further survived by her 11 Grandchildren; Caitlyn, George, Ghayge, Alexis, Quinton, Aurora, Joey, Gwendolyn, Celeste, Theron, Persephone; and her two Great Grandchildren, Benjamine and Sullivan. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, William and Wanda, and her sister, Barbara Cooper. 

Funeral Services for Sheila Lynn Tennant will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday December 13, 2021 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery, Prudenville. Visitation will be held on Monday December 13, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.  Memorial contributions in memory of Sheila are asked to be directed to the funeral home to assist in covering funeral expenses.
