Harold Helton, age 76, of Hale, Michigan passed away Sunday morning, December 5, 2021 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City, Michigan.
Harold was born May 8, 1945 in Kentucky to the late Roger and Hazel (Mann) Helton. He obtained his GED and then later studied theology becoming an ordained pastor. He worked 33 years at General Motors retiring in 1999. Harold and Yvonne moved to the Hale area shortly after and enjoyed their retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed preaching God’s word, playing the banjo and guitar, and spending precious time with his family.
Harold is survived by his sons, Vinson (Judy) Helton and Steve (Mary) Helton; grandchildren, Melissa Helton, Justin Helton, Vanessa Helton, Amanda Timlick, Meagan Helton, John Timlick, Katherine Timlick and Zachary Helton; great grandchildren, Kamaria Hill, Dominic Helton, Arianna Helton, Kobe Williams, Jayden Timlick, Jason Bryant, Nolan Proulx, Kyra Helton; great great grandchildren, Khaileesi Williams, Tylan Beach, AnnaMay Timlick, Rilynn Faust; several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all who will miss him dearly.
According to Harold’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Yvonne in Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, Michigan in the Spring of 2022.
