Jeanette Kelts, 94, of Grayling

Jeanette Kelts, 94, of Grayling, Michigan gained her wings on November 20th, 2021, after a short time in comfort care in Roscommon, Michigan.

Born June 21, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, Jeanette was the daughter of Martin and Anastasia “Nette” (Jankowski) Plodzien.

Throughout her life, Jeanette was a devote member of the Grayling Eagles, the Red Hat Society, and the Roscommon Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Axillary 4159. She worked assiduously to support and spearhead aid for our veterans. Jeanette continued working several years after retirement, but outside of volunteering she found great joy in traveling, feeding, and watching wildlife, and tending to her beautiful Christmas cacti.

Jeanette was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grayling, Michigan, maintaining a strong love and connection with God throughout her entire life.

Jeanette will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Celeste Conflitti of Houston, Texas, and her youngest son Bernard J. Conflitti of Ortonville, Michigan. All her life, Jeanette believed that blood was not necessary to make you “family.” Kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness, and respect, among other things, create that special bond. She shared great love with many people that she considered “family,” including: Michelle Cochran, Loretta and Jim Mirro, Jon and Emily Yanca, and Perry “Dale” Wilson. She was just as grateful for the bond with her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jerome “Chuck” Kelts, Bernard A. Conflitti, as well as her oldest son Pingree “Dan” Conflitti.

Family and friends can gather to pay their respects at 10:00 AM on November 30, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 708 Peninsular Avenue, Grayling, Michigan 49738 for an hour prior to the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass that will follow.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to continue Jeanette’s support of veterans can make a memorial contribution in her name to the VFW Post 4159, 219 Terrace Drive, Roscommon, Michigan 48653 or the Bell Project of St. Mary’s Church in Grayling.

The family would like to thank the wonderfully kind nurses and aides of Mission Point Nursing & Physical Rehabilitation Center of Roscommon, who provided her with comfort and laughter during her final moments.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
