George Merlin Fabera, 80, of Hale

George Merlin Fabera, age 80, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. He was born on March 18, 1941 in Prescott, MI to Robert and Marie (Koch) Fabera.

George lived in Hale, MI since 1960, formerly of Prescott. He graduated from Hale High School and enlisted in the United States Army. He worked in road construction and owned George’s Lock Shop for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren.


George is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen Fabera of Hale; sons, Greg (Jodi) Fabera of West Branch and Dave (Donna) Fabera of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Katlyn (Greg), Kendra and Mathew; great grandson, Owen; sister, Marion Neely, brothers, Robert (Ilene) Fabera and Ralph (Debbie) Fabera; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Basil, and sister, Barbara.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Kevin Switzer will officiate. Burial will be at Logan Township Cemetery.
