Thomas Michael Danes, 80 of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday
April 5, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.
Tom was born on February 8, 1941 in Dearborn, Michigan to Charles and Jane (Pecknecker) Danes. Tom Grew up in the Dearborn area until the time he joined the Army at the age of 18. He served in the Army from 1959 to 1962. Tom worked for General Motors for many years. Upon his retirement Tom moved to the Houghton Lake area from Taylor. Tom was a member of the Houghton Lake Moose, the American Legion, and lifetime member of the Houghton Lake Eagles. Tom enjoyed spending his free time fishing, playing horseshoes, and on the shuffleboard league.
Surviving Mr. Danes are his son’s, Thomas and Trish of Redford; Michael and Tina of Houghton Lake; and David and Cathy of Romulus; two grandchildren, Aaron and Aimee; three great grandchildren, Caleb, Destiny, and Collyn; sister, Shirley Scott of Flint; several cousins, including Penny Wilson of Houghton Lake. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gerald; sister, Betty Eaton; and three brothers, Robert, William, and Gerald.
Celebration of Life service for Thomas Michael Danes will be conducted at The Houghton Lake Eagles Club at a later date.
