Frank Bommarito, age 84 of Higgins Lake, died on December 11, 2019, at his home in the presence and comfort of his family.
Frank was born January 22, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Providenza (Maniati) Bommarito. Frank married Ruth Hinton on December 18, 1986. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. Frank worked as a CNC Machinist at Dana Form Sprag for almost 30 years. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, watching baseball and hockey… Go Red Wings! Frank had a passion for Italian food, both making and eating it. His family especially loved his spiedini. He also enjoyed watching old black and white movies.
Frank will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of almost 34 years, Ruth Hinton; children Elizabeth (John) Kirchoff, Cynthia Dowell, David Eichbrecht, Jennifer (Richard) Ferguson; grandchildren Melissa, Tamara, Carrie, Crissy, Miranda, Amanda, Nichole, Christopher, and Daniel; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister Sara Conigliario; brother Nick (Fran) Bommarito; cats Rajah and Sarah; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; daughter Pamela; and great-grandchild Derek.
A funeral service will be held at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 12:00 noon. A private interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Frank’s name to Wounded Warriors Project.
