Barbara Janet Mayer, age 82, of Roscommon, died on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at home in the presence and comfort of her family.
Barbara was born September 24, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John and Mary (Stecko) Hakalow.
Barbara married Harold Mayer on August 20, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. One of Barbara’s many passions was being an artist. She enjoyed experimenting with all kinds of medium. Barbara was a member of the Kirtland Garden Club and the Red Hat Society.
Barbara will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her daughter
Laura (Jim) Witt of Roscommon; grandchildren, Stephen (Amanda) Witt of Roscommon and Patrick (Kara) Witt of Roscommon; great-grandchildren, Travis and Abigale; her sister Christine (Bill) Bennett of St. Helen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold and three sisters Irene, Eugenia, and Dolores.
Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. Nancy Bresette will be officiating.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Barbara’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
