Paul E. Walper

Paul E. Walper, 81, of Roscommon passed away at home with his wife and sister-in-law by his side.
Paul was born in Windsor Ontario, Canada Aug. 10, 1936 to Glen Casper and Helen (Blackburn) Walper. He resided in Roscommon since 1988, coming from Berville.
Paul married Karen L. (Cowley) Triplett March 5, 1982 in Armada.
Paul worked for General Motors for over 32 years retiring as a processing engineer from the GM Tech Center in Warren. He and Karen owned and operated Paddle Brave Campground and Canoe Livery for six years from 1988 to 1994.
Paul had a passion for playing ice hockey. He played until he was 76 -+. He enjoyed walking in the woods, planting and tending to his garden.Brave Campground and Canoe Livery for 6 years from 1988 to 1994.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; a blended family of six children, Terry (Henry) Hojnacki of Sterling Heights, John Walper of Zephyr Hills, FL, Eric (Jennifer) Walper of Macomb, Jeff (Cheryl) Walper of Macomb, Steve (Monica) Triplett of Nashville, TN and Carrie DeVault of Roscommon; daughter-in-law, Katie Triplett of Grand Blanc; 18 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and brother, Bill Walper of Roscommon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Triplett; and a brother, Frederick.
Funeral services were held Aug. 8, 2018 at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon with Pastor Lonnie Wilkerson officiating. Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery, Roscommon.
