Bernice Mae “Bunny” Peshick

Bernice Mae “Bunny” Peshick, 92, of Prudenville passed away on November 26, 2017 at home surrounded by her family and her beloved dog Penny at her side.

Bernice was born on May 9, 1925 in Saginaw to George & Alvina (Kuphal) Peshick. She grew up in the Saginaw area and graduated from Saginaw High School. Bernice started work as a secretary for General Motors in 1940. She was moved to the assembly line during Word War II where she was a parts Inspector. Following the War, and the return of the soldiers to the work force, Bernice moved back into the offices finishing her 40 year career with General Motors as an executive assistant. Bernice moved from Saginaw to Midland and in 2000 she moved to Prudenville. She was an active artist, enjoyed knitting, and in her younger years was an avid bowler and golfer.

Bernice is survived by her nephews, Tim Peshick of Frederick, Frank (Susie) Peshick of Houghton Lake, Scott Peshick of Cleveland, OH, Kevin Peshick of Ann Arbor and Jim Phair of Burton; nieces, Heidi (Joe) Ruzicska of St. Helen, Sandy Arndt of Buffalo, NY and Kathy McKenzie of Burton; and several great- and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Katherine “Kitty” Schaffer and June Phair; brother George Peshick; niece, Elaine Phair; and nephew, Tim Schaffer.

Per Bernice’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held in the spring at Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.

Memorial contributions in memory of Bernice are asked to be directed to Roscommon County Animal Shelter, 1110 Short Drive, Prudenville, MI. 48651. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com.
