Jay Lee Boyle of Houghton Lake

Jay Lee Boyle, 55, of Houghton Lake passed away October 13, 2017 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

He was born on April 4, 1962 in Lansing to Alton and Carol (Hayes) Boyle. He grew up in the Lansing area, graduating from St. Johns High School, and served in the US Army in the late 1970s.

Mr. Boyle was employed as a maintenance person in the Lansing area and in the oil industry on oil rigs. On July 16, 1990 he and Della F. DuBreuil were married in Mason.

He was a very knowledgeable man and enjoyed working with his hands, rebuilding most anything, and helping people on the street. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years, Della; daughter, Sandra D.; and sons, Dustin L. Boyle and Eric St. Charles, all of Houghton Lake.

Also surviving are his father, Alton F. Boyle of St. Johns; sister, Janice (Harold) Gunderman of St. Johns; three brothers, Keith (Helen) Boyle of Elsie, Don (Mary) Boyle of Lansing, Marv (Jamie) Boyle of Bath; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Beth Boyle.

Memorial Services will be conducted at the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. October 25 with Rev. George Spencer officiating.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jay are asked to be directed to the family.
