Thomas Joseph Sucaet of Roscommon

Thomas Joseph Sucaet, 64, of Roscommon passed away Sept. 16, 2017 at home.

Tom was born in Detroit April 14, 1953, to George Henry and Denise Bernadette (Kidd) Sucaet. He married Carolyn M. Young Oct. 4, 1986 in Detroit.

He resided in Roscommon for 25 years, coming from East Detroit.

Mr. Sucaet served in the as a Medical Specialist in the US Army from 1974 – 1977

He was a social worker with the Houghton Lake Community Schools for 23 years.

He enjoyed craft beers, kayaking, backpacking, camping and watching sports.

Surviving are his wife, Carrie; four children, Josh (Christy Sanborn) Sucaet of Troy, Jacob (Charlie) Sucaet of Kalamazoo, Meghan (Clay) Kreiner of Coleman and Brandon Sucaet of Grayling; two grandchildren, Greyson and Griffin Sucaet and one on the way; mother, Denise Sucaet of Macomb Twp.; three brothers, Bob (Debbie) Sucaet of Houston, TX, John (Cathy) Sucaet of Lake Orion and Ken (Jane) Sucaet of Bloomfield Hills; and two sisters, Pat (Ron) Tobianski and Julie (Bob) Walgrave all of Chesterfield Twp.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of life will be held at the family residence at 1 p.m. Sept. 23.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, 322 W. Houghton Ave., West Branch, MI 48661.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon served the family.
