Nicholas Casper Rieger of Roscommon

Nicholas Casper Rieger, 84, of Roscommon, passed away August 18, 2017 at Crawford Continuing Care in Grayling.

He was born on February 19, 1933 in Wyandotte to George and Madeline (Sheitz) Rieger. On June 22, 1957 in Wyandotte, he was married to Frances Rose Bozzo.

He was employed as a mason by BASF Corporation from which he retired. Later, he was employed as a janitor at St. Stanislaus Kostka and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parishes in Wyandotte.

Mr. Rieger enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader.

Surviving his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Rose Rieger of Roscommon; three sons, Steve (Ann) Rieger of Roscommon, Peter Rieger of Lincoln Park, and George (Brenda) Rieger of Prudenville; daughter, Frances (Bob) Moldenhauer of Marysville; six grandchidren, Jonathan, Andrew, Mary, Luke, Madeline, and David; and five great-grandchildren, Ella, Jasmine, Sierra, Peyton, and Andrew, Jr.

Also surviving are brother, George Rieger of Southgate; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Rieger; two sisters, Catherine and Anna; and grandson, Steven Rieger.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. until the funeral services at 1 p.m. today (Aug. 22) from Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel with Chaplin Karen Henderlong officiating.

Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.

Memorial contributions in memory of Nicholas are asked to be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
