Shari J. Dickson of Roscommon

Shari J. Dickson passed away June 29, 2017 at St. Mary’ of Michigan Medical Center – Saginaw.

She was born in Alpena Sept. 14, 1961 to Robert Joseph Bennett and Opal Jeane Watson.

She resided in Roscommon since 1983, coming from Clarkston.

For almost 20 years Shari was the nutrition instructor in the family nutrition program at the MSU Extension office in Roscommon.

She was very active with Charles M. Engel VFW Post 4159 in Roscommon where she had been past president of both the current Auxiliary and former Ladies Auxiliary. She was involved with many post activities and worked their Sunday breakfast at the juice bar. She also volunteered for bingo at the Lighthouse of Roscommon. She absolutely loved her grandchildren most of all.

Surviving are two daughters, Sabrina Ross (fianc+¬, Adam McGillis) of Roscommon and Jaclyn Ross (Daniel Heinz) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Dallas and Kyra McGillis and Matthew Heinz; mother, Jeane (Bruce) Olson of Eagle Harbor; and step-mother, Jacqueline Bennett of Auburn Hills.

Also surviving are siblings, Susan (Douglas) Claycomb of Lake Orion, Robert (Vicki) Bennett, Jr. of Millington, TN, Erik (Sybil) Olson of Clarkston, Debra McCormick of Chesterfield and Tammy Kobe of Clinton Township; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bennett.

Funeral services were conducted at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon with Mary Beth Brady officiating. She was buried in Roscommon Village Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of the donor’ choice.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon is serving the family.
