Norma Jean ‘Mickey’ Hall of Higgins Lake

Norma Jean ‘Mickey’ Hall, died July 9, 2017 at age 90, surrounded by her loving family at her Higgins Lake home.

The family will receive friends at Walsh Funeral Home in Roscommon on Saturday, July 22, from 10 AM until funeral services at 11 AM officiated by Dr. David E. Hansen. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at Higgins Lake. Memorials may be made to the Higgins Lake Foundation.

She was born August 16, 1926 in Canton, Ohio the daughter of Earl and Olive (Fryer) Fulmer. A childhood sweetheart of Wayne L. Hall, she summered at Higgins Lake with him and his family beginning in 1940, and they were united in marriage on June 19, 1948 in East Detroit. They lived in Southfield where they were active at Beverly Hills Methodist Church and she was Past Worthy Matron of the Roseville Order of the Eastern Star. They continued to summer at Higgins Lake until moving in 1986 and becoming full time residents.

Her greatest joys were her family and friends. Caring and compassionate, she would always give to others before even thinking of taking for herself. She was a homemaker and every Sunday she prepared pot roast with Yorkshire pudding for her family. She enjoyed reading and playing a good game of bridge, pinochle or solitaire. She had a passion for golf and was a very good player.

Surviving are her best friend and companion for over 75 years and husband of 69 years, Wayne; two sons, Phil Hall of Naples, FL, and David (Mary) Hall of Higgins Lake; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyler) Pierce of Saugatuck, Kristopher (Sarah) Hall of Denver, CO, Jeffrey Hall of Cupertino, CA and a cousin, Bussy (Linda) Fryer of Cincinnati, OH.
