Shirley Ann Liuzzo of Houghton Lake

Shirley Ann Liuzzo, 80, of Houghton Lake passed away March 28, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on November 23, 1936 in Niagra Falls, New York to John Joseph and Angeline Barbara (Broski) Ciresi . She graduated from St. Stanislaus Catholic School. Shirley was married on April 19, 1969 in Detroit to Robert C. Liuzzo. The couple moved to the Houghton Lake area from Lake Orion in 1978.

Mrs. Liuzzo owned and operated an adult care home for many years in Houghton Lake and assisted her husband in operating a marina on the West Shore of Houghton Lake. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter, Darla Ann Vezina of Burton; son, Robert J. Liuzzo of Houghton Lake; grandson, Robert J. Liuzzo, Jr. of Houghton Lake; granddaughter, Dayna Vezina of Burton; several nieces and nephews, including her niece, Laura Ciresi of Sterling Heights.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert C. Liuzzo; grandson, Paul Joseph Vezina; brother, John; and sister, Dorothy.

Memorial contributions in memory of Shirley are asked to be directed to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
