Amber Lynn Skutt of Roscommon

Amber Lynn Skutt, 25, of Roscommon, died April 22, 2017, the result of an automobile accident.

She was born in Flint on Sept. 19, 1991 to Christine Ann (Schmidt) and Jimmie L. Skutt, Jr. She moved from Midland to Roscommon in 1996.

According to family and friends, Amber was one of God’ best creations. Every day was an adventure. When she woke up, she may not have known what was going to happen and when she went to sleep, it had been a meaningful day. Amber was a free spirit. She enjoyed drawing and her dog, Apollo.

Ms. Skutt was employed as a waitress by North Shore Lounge at Houghton Lake and also had been employed by Jack’ Place in Roscommon.

She is survived by her mother, Christine (Uriah) Prosser of Roscommon; father, Jim (Sherry) Skutt of Midland; baby sister Ashley May Skutt (fianc+¬ Jeff Phipps) of Frederic; step-sisters, Laura Starks of Standish and Constance Starks of Midland; and step-brothers, Brian and William Starks of Midland.

Also surviving are maternal grandparents, David (Bernie) Schmidt of Beaverton and Amy (Joe) Schade of Roscommon; paternal grandmother, Wanetta Skutt of Flushing; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and nieces, Gracie and Leah Hammond of Midland.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jimmie L. Skutt and nephew, Remington Starks.

The family will receive friends at Walsh Funeral Home on April 28 from 12-4p.m., with a Life Celebration at 4 p.m.

Memorials to the AuSable Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 384, Grayling, MI 49738 would be appreciated.
