Mary L. Smith of Roscommon

Mary L. Smith, 68, of Roscommon passed away Jan. 26, 2017 at St. Mary’ of Michigan Medical Center – Saginaw. Death was sudden and unexpected.

She was born in Ferndale on Oct. 10, 1948 to Harmon Beaty, Jr. and Christine K. (Filsinger) Beaty. She resided in Roscommon since 1984, coming from Hartland.

Mrs. Smith owned and operated Roscommon Floral since 1984. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She loved being with her family, especially her grand- and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Erine Adams (fianc+¬, Michael Wescoat) of Roscommon, Christian (Shawnna) Smith of Roscommon and Jacob (Lisa) Smith of Higgins Lake; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her sister, Kathy Eickhoff of Saginaw; and five brothers, Harmon (Janet) Beaty, III of Hartland, Richard (Pat) Beaty of Vicksburg, Skip (Sue) Beaty of Schoolcraft, Wesley (Dione) Beaty of HI and Russell (Linda) Beaty of Traverse City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were conducted at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon with Michael Wescoat officiating. Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery, Roscommon.

Memorial donations may be made to the family to be distributed between Michigan Lighthouse Keepers Assn., Alexa M. Luck Memorial Fund through the RCCF, the Arbor Day Foundation and the Roscommon Community Garden.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon served the family.
