Richard ‘Rick’ James Langenburg of Roscommon

Richard ‘Rick’ James Langenburg, 70, of Roscommon passed away unexpectedly Sept. 22, 2016 at his home.

Rick was born July 30, 1946 in Highland Park to Floyd and Rita C. (Morell) Langenburg. He married Dorothy C. (Hawkins) Patterson on Oct. 1, 2007 in Las Vegas. He moved to Roscommon in 1991 after residing in Carleton, Brownstown and Las Vegas.

Mr. Langenburg was employed in sales by Barnett Pontiac, Dick Scott Chrysler and Thompson Chrysler-Plymouth in the metro Detroit area. He owned and operated The Union in Roscommon, and was the administrator for the Grayling Moose Lodge for 23 years.

He graduated in 1965 from Roscommon High School. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Grayling Moose #1162 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Grayling. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed fishing and gambling. He valued many dear and close friends and all members of the Grayling Moose #1162 which was his home away from home and a 24/7 responsibility he took very seriously. He was a generous man willing to help anyone anytime with anything he could.

Surviving are his wife, Dottie; two children, Chad (April) Langenburg of Auburn Hills and Jennifer Langenburg of Ann Arbor; five step-sons, Stephen Patterson (significant other, Melissa Murphy) of St. Petersburg, FL, David Patterson of St. Helen, Bill (Dawn) Patterson of St. Helen, Sean (Danielle) Patterson of Roscommon and Frankie Patterson of Grosse Pointe Woods; eight grandchildren, Alexandria, Ryan, Alivia, Cooper, Marissa, Manhattan, Penelope ‘Nellie’ and Sedona; sister-in-law, Rita (Lauren) Mead of Roscommon; nieces; nephews; friends and fishing buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Robin M. Langenburg; brothers, Larry, Tom and David Langenburg and a sister, Genelda ‘Nellie’ Stolzman.

Funeral services will be held at Walsh Funeral Home – Roscommon at 1 p.m. Sept. 26, 2016. Burial will be at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Freiborg.

Memorial donations may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Rick’ name for the Grayling Moose Lodge.
