ROSCOMMON COUNTY- The treatment for spongy moths in Roscommon County is scheduled to begin on or around Monday, May 20th, 2024
Announcements regarding potential changes to this date due to unforeseen variables such as weather and wind will be broadcast on the following radio stations: 98.5FM WUPS, 100.3 FM WGRY, 101.1FM WQON and 1230AM WGRY 92.1FM The Twister
Material being aerially applied is Foray 48B-Certified Organic Gardening. This material contains Bacillus thuringiensis, a soil bacterium specifically lethal to 1st through 3rd instar feeding caterpillars.
Al’s Aerial Spraying LLC, operating out of 3473 N. Shepardsville Rd, Ovid, MI 48866 has been contracted for aerial application services. Questions concerning aerial application may be answered by contacting (989) 834-5067.
The application will occur in low wind, high humidity conditions typically associated with early morning or mid evening. The exact day and time an individual ‘block’ or parcel will be sprayed cannot be predicted. There are roughly 2,355 acres anticipated to be sprayed in Roscommon County.
Operations for spray may take up to three days.
