LOVELLS – Two Lovells residents died when their home exploded Oct. 14.

According to a statement from Crawford County Sheriff Ryan Swope, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to a residence on Fruit Farm Road in Lovells Township that had reportedly collapsed.

After arriving on scene, first responders quickly realized that the house had not
collapsed, but had exploded. The explosion is believed to be caused from a gas
leak from inside the residence. At the time of the explosion two individuals were
inside the home.

A 71-year-old man and 72-year-old woman were located on the property, deceased when first responders arrived at the residence.

This incident is still under investigation, foul play is not believed to be a factor at this time.
