Richfield Township wants public input on its future

ST HELEN – Richfield Township is asking the public to help set its future course.  The Township’s land use Master Plan is being updated, and the Township wants to hear from the community about what they envision for and desires of the future.

Community master plans provide guidance to the Township’s Planning Commission and Township Board of Trustees regarding land use and capital infrastructure decisions.  This plan will lay the framework and set the course for the next 20 years.

To gather the public ideas and suggestions, the Master Plan Survey is open now until Tues. July 11.  The survey may be accessed online at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RichfieldTwpSurvey.  Hard copies of the survey are available at Township Hall as well.

For this plan update to be effective, the public needs to weigh in on what it desires for the community’s future.  The survey is designed to elicit responses from residents, property and business owners, summer residents, and others.

To confirm the Master Plan’s stated desired outcomes, the Township will be hosting an Open House in the fall to confirm plan concepts.  The plan’s goals and action items will be presented to the attendees and steering committee representatives will be available for questions and answers.

Results of the survey and Open House will assist the Planning Commission in providing feedback and guidance to the consultant team working on revising the township’s plan.

Any questions or additional information, please contact the Township Planning Commission chair, Ms. Tula Alexander at 989-578-2205.
