Tractor-trailer accident shuts down Houghton Lake Post Office

HOUGHTON LAKE – A tractor-trailer backed into power lines and ripped down utility poles near the corner of Tower Hill Road and M-55 this afternoon about 4:30 p.m.

According to witnesses, the truck was backing into Horizon Restoration Construction, locates at 2215 Tower Hill Road.

The accident caused the closure of the Houghton Lake Post Office for a brief time. Troopers from the Michigan State Police said the interection would be closed for several hours. It’s unclear if power has been restored.
