ROSCOMMON – The Public Safety class at COOR ISD Career & Technical Education Center were exposed to several career options as part of an April 19 field trip.

Director Dan Beltz said the classmates first traveled to the Michigan State Police Forensic Lab in Bridgeport.

The second excursion was to Comerica Park in Detroit. At Comerica students were exposed to traffic control, crowd control and terrorism safety.

‘The trip to (Comerica) gave them a chance to see what what it’s like to try to manage 35,000 people safely,’ Beltz added. ‘The entire day was about helping them to see (what) career choices (were available).

Beltz said significant assistance in coordinating the trip was provided by Roscommon County
