OTSEGO COUNTY – The Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post is proud to announce the promotion of Sergeant Harold Terry to the rank of lieutenant effective October 16, 2022. Lt. Terry joined the Michigan State Police in 1998 as a member of the 116th Trooper Recruit School. Lt. Terry possesses an associate degree from Kirtland Community College. Prior to joining the MSP, he served as a cadet for the Michigan State Police West Branch Post.
Since his enlistment, Lt. Terry has been assigned to the Flint Post as a trooper and a canine trooper at the former Stevenson Post located in Menominee County and at the Houghton Lake Post. He was promoted to sergeant at the Houghton Lake Post in 2016. In 2021 he transferred to the Gaylord Post. Lt. Terry has been an MSP First Aid and Small Squad Tactics instructor, and Canine School instructor.
Lt. Terry begins his new assignment as the assistant post commander on Sunday, October 16th.
