MIO – Parents of children ages 0-4 are welcome to bring their kids to a free playgroup at Mio Elementary on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12 pm. The playgroup, hosted by Early On, is open to all residents of Oscoda County regardless of family income. Playgroups for the other COOR counties (Crawford, Ogemaw, and Roscommon) are offered in different locations on different days of the week.
Playgroup includes free play, sensory activities, crafts, literacy activities, small group interaction, and a snack provided by Early On. Early childhood and special education experts are on-site to discuss topics relevant to parents of young children.
Oscoda County Playgroup runs from Sep. 24 to May 19. There is no playgroup on the first Thursday of each month, school holidays, or snow days. All children attending must be supervised by a caregiver.
