OHHS band went to States

OGEMAW COUNTY – The Ogemaw Heights High School (OHHS) Symphonic Band traveled to the Oscoda High School for the District 9 Band Festival on March 11. High school bands from all over Northern Michigan came to compete for a place in the State Band festival.

Three judges evaluated a three-song performance by each band, as well as a sight-reading session with a new piece of music. Led by Director Nicholas Chernick, the OHHS Symphonic Band earned the necessary high scores and will travel to Port Huron to compete at the State Band Festival.

Mark your calendars – the OHHS band will be performing its Spring Concert at Ogemaw Heights High School on May 19 at 7 p.m.
