GRAYLING – After an investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’ Office, assisted by the Michigan State Police, Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney Sierra Koch announced today that her office has filed criminal charges against Jonathan O’Connor of Crawford County.
O’Connor is charged with open murder in the death of Michelle Kukulski. If convicted he could face a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.
O’Connor is presently in custody in the Crawford County Jail and was arraigned this afternoon in the 87th District Court.
Kukulski was reported missing on Dec. 8.
In a written statement, Koch’s office said, “In order to protect the integrity of the case at hand and the rights of the accused, additional details will not immediately be available. The criminal charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
