Oscoda township man charge with accosting child

EAST TAWAS – An Oscoda Township man is charged with using a computer to accost a child

According to a statement from Iosco County Prosecutor James A. Bacarella,  Peter James Scalise is charged with Computer – Using to commit a crime and Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes.

The first count has a maximum penalty of seven years in prison. The second accosting charge has a maximum penalty of four years in prison

The statement said that on Feb. 11, a report was made to Oscoda Township Police that Scalise was soliciting a person online, who he believed was a thirteen (13) year old girl, for sexual purposes. Sexually explicit messages and nude photos were sent to the person after she informed him that she was a child.

Officers from the Oscoda Township Police then investigated the username and phone number of the person who was sending the explicit messages. The searches conducted by the police revealed that it was Scalise who was sending the explicit messages and photos.

Scalise was arraigned by the 81st District Court and a bond was set in the amount of $7,500.00, 10% cash/ surety.
