HARRISVLLE – A statement from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post on Jan. 5 alleges that a Swartz Creek man took photos of a nude woman without her permission.
Police allege that 33-year-old Brendan James Ryan of Swartz Creek had secretly taken photos of the woman, who he knew, while she was unclothed and changing into a bathing suit last summer. The victim found the suspect’s phone in the bedroom while she was changing. She saw a nude photograph of herself on the phone and several images of her were later discovered.
A report was turned over to the Alcona County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued. Ryan turned himself in at the Alcona County Jail on Dec. 29, 2023. Ryan was arraigned later that day in the 81st District Court in Alcona County on one count Surveilling Unclothed Person and one count Using Computer to Commit a Crime.
He was given a $10,000 PR bond.
