ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MICH. Troopers from MSP Houghton Lake are investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-75 in Roscommon County. The involved vehicle was carrying two occupants. The passenger Ekaterina Carter, a 24-year-old female from Roseville MI was killed in the crash. The other driver, a 32-year-old female also from Roseville MI was seriously injured. The injured driver was flown to Traverse City Munson Hospital where she underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred on I-75 north-bound between mile markers 238 and 239, which was shut down for a period for cleanup and investigation. For reference, the crash scene is just south of Roscommon exit. The roadway has since been reopened for normal traffic.
Initial investigation suggests the vehicle went off the roadway and upon trying to correct, overturned several times ejecting both occupants. Intoxicants and speed are believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
