GRAND TRAVERSE AND LEELANAU COUNTIES – M-72 between Empire and Traverse City will be under construction June 17-July 27.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $1.8 million to resurface 11.3 miles of M-72 from Coleman Road to Bugai Road. The project also includes installation of new roadside reflectors on M-72 from the M-22 intersection in Empire to the M-22 intersection in Traverse City.

This work will require daytime single-lane closures with traffic regulators.

This project includes new pavement markings and rumble strips, as well as enhanced reflectors marking the road edge.
