Houghton Lake Area Tourism Bureau launches new phone app

HOUGHTON LAKE – There’s a new app in town, and it hopes to answer the age old question, ‘What is there to do around here?’

The Houghton Lake Area Tourism Bureau is excited to announce the launch of its new Phone App.

‘Houghton Lake App’ promotes all of Roscommon County including Roscommon, Saint Helen, and Houghton Lake, as a tourist destination by listing lodging, restaurants, golf and other activities available in the county. It includes a list of churches, emergency services, picnic areas, beaches, trails and businesses.

In order to promote businesses in the area, the app includes a section of coupons and loyalty cards. The Catch Us If You Can fishing contest information also is included.

“We hope the app will promote the four seasons of fun on Michigan’s Other Great Lakes, Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake, and Lake St. Helen not just to visitors to our area, but to locals as well,” said Dave Clouse, president of the HLATB.

‘Houghton Lake App’ is a free app to download. It is available through Google Play Store and the Apple Store.
