Children’s Assessment Center receives grant

The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) recently awarded a $2,500.00 grant to the Northern Michigan Children’ Assessment Center (NMCAC). Funding for this project was provided by the Roscommon County Kellogg Youth Fund ($1,500.00), the Roscommon County Health Improvement Fund ($710.00) the Cornerstone Fund ($175.00), and the Roscommon County General Fund ($115.00).
With the funds granted, NMCAC purchased body safety books targeted for children under the age of seven, coloring books for children eight to pre-teens and internet and sexual assault information for teens.
According to Becky Yuncker, GÇ£With this outreach effort, we hope to educate children and teens on ways to protect themselves, empower children and teens to tell when they have been abused and provide education regarding internet and body safety.’Get connected with causes that matter to you!
