Carpenter resigns after 36 years on COOR board

REGION – Robert Carpenter announced he is resigning as president of the Crawford-Oscoda-Ogemaw-Roscommon (COOR) Intermediate School District board of education.

Carpenter, a Mio resident, has served on the board for 36 years in varying capacities, the majority as president.

During his tenure he has worked with six different superintendents and five special education directors. He has also served on boards for other community organizations, such as the North Central Michigan Community Foundation.

In his official resignation letter, he stated, ‘COOR has a quality Board and I have the utmost confidence that it will continue to make decisions based on what is best for the district.’
