ROSCOMMON – Marguerite Gahagan, who founded The North Woods Call in 1953, and whose residence has become the Marguerite Gahagan Nature Preserve, was inducted into the Journalism Hall of Fame earlier this year. Marguerite was honored for being a “trailblazing Detroit journalist who opened doors for many women.” Oct. 9, during the Gahagan Open House, her plaque was presented to Tom Dale, Gahagan board chairman, by Anne Gahagan, Marguerite’s niece.
