Nominations for this award are sought throughout all educational entities within the COOR ISD service area.

The 23rd annual award was presented to Darrell Partenio of HLCS. After the Board of Education reviewed all nominations gathered from across the four counties, Mr. Partenio was chosen for his innovative use of technology to enhance learning for all students. He was nominated by Jeff Goodwin, principal at the Houghton Lake Junior/Senior High School.

Mr. Partenio started the robotics club and developed curriculum and pacing guides for coding when STEM class had to be adjusted for remote learning.
