HOUGHTON LAKE – Billie Moore of Houghton Lake has joined the staff of AuSable Media / UpNorthVoice.com. as a reporter, covering the Houghton Lake and Higgins Lake areas.,
“As a lifelong resident of southeastern Michigan, I found my way to the Houghton Lake area seven years ago in search of a business opportunity,” Moore said. “After years of making the weekend drive up I-75, my husband, Tony, and I recently become year-round residents.”
Moore said her fondness for writing began while she was pursuing a business degree, and really took hold when she had a chance to write a feature for MicroSoft Magazine. She also wrote for the Detroit Pistons when they were located at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
“Giving readers a glimpse of what it was like to work for an NBA team during my corporate career was a great privilege as well,” she said, “Now as a writer for Up North Voice, I get the opportunity to showcase the events and incredible people of this community.”
AuSable Media CFO Tracy Constance said she is pleased to have Moore join the Up North Voice team.
“Billie is bright, intelligent and just knows how to connect with people,” Constance said. “We think the people in Roscommon County will really like working with her.”
Moore added that when she isn’t working, “You can find me on the lake, fishing, boating or simply enjoying the beauty of northern Michigan with my family and friends.”
