Ski for Light 2022

Ski for Light

ROSCOMMON – The Higgins Lake-Roscommon Lions Club sponsored the annual Ski for Light program on the cross-country ski trails around the North State Park. More than 50 visually impair skiers participated in the event, matched up with blind skiers on trails cut by a special sled built by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Cross Country Ski Headquarters donated the skis, Scott’s Excavating donated wood for the fires, and the Grayling Moose Lodge contributed discounted pizzas and salads for a Friday night introductory dinner, where President Brian Brown gave a brief presentation. The group, which hailed from Southwest Michigan and the Chicago, Illinois areas, stayed at the RAM Center.
