Higgins Lake Awareness Day a success

HIGGINS LAKE / ROSCOMMON COUNTY – The Higgins Lake Foundation held its 29th Annual Awareness Day at the RAM Center in Higgins Lake on Saturday, Aug. 4.
More than 100 people turned out for the event, which featured presentations on the actions of the foundation board and it’s activities to keep the lake healthy.
The event acts as a fundraiser for the foundation and volunteers worked to sell $100 tickets to the event which included an open bar, catered dinner by Fred’s of Roscommon, Raffles and a live auction with a $3,000 first prize.
Focus of the foundation is, “Promoting Ecologically Sound Projects and Practices for the Protection of Higgins Lake and the Surrounding Watershed.”
