ARK holds annual Open House

By Andrea Gregory

ST HELEN – The A.R.K. (Association to Rescue Kritters) had their annual open house June 16 giving the public the opportunity to tour and learn about the Michigan wildlife currently at the ARK. On top of learning about the feathered, fury, and scaled Michigan wildlife there was also games, face painting, balloon animals and a luncheon available by donation.

‘This event is turning out just beautifully. I am so grateful that the weather has held to allow the public to enjoy our one day event this year and I’m so happy that we have had such a great turn out today,’ Ruth Fruehauf, A.R.K. Director said.

The ARK is always looking for people who want to volunteer to help and is currently looking for donations to add to their annual Garage Sale on Labor Day Weekend. The annual sale helps the ARK financially to continue helping injured and orphaned wildlife through the winter months. Anyone wanting to donate any household items, furniture, sporting items, books and more are asked to call Debbie at 989-737-0083 or the A.R.K. 989-389-3305. They cannot accept clothing or electronics.

There is also a ‘wish list’ of items that can be used at the ARK for the animals on their website www.arkritters.org
