Gahagan Nature Preserve receives grant from RCCF

The students from area elementary schools have had the opportunity to see a presentation from Gahagan’ Visiting Naturalist. A grant from the Morley Foundation Fund of RCCF in the amount of $500.00 assisted with travel expenses and materials needed for these school visits.

Jalen Williams, the 2016 Visiting Naturalist, traveled to classrooms across Roscommon County. His presentation included a puppet show, replicas of animal tracks, stories, and full animal pelts. Funding from the Community Foundation helped not only with travel expenses, but also ‘allowed us to replace materials and enhance the variety of replica materials in the teaching kit. We are very grateful,’ Mr. Williams states.
