GRAYLING – Munson Healthcare has awarded a $10,000 gift to River House, Inc., supporting safe housing and economic independence for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in northern Michigan. The investment aligns with Munson Healthcare’s Community Health Needs Assessment, which identifies economic security as a critical driver of health and well-being.
“Economic security is foundational to health,” said Kirsten Korth-White, Munson Healthcare East Region President. “River House provides safety in crisis while helping survivors rebuild their lives with the tools needed for long-term stability.”
In addition to the gift, Munson Healthcare Grayling team members recently volunteered at River House, assisting with shelter organization and learning more about the impact of domestic violence in the community.
“This partnership allows us to offer more than shelter, it helps survivors move toward financial independence and break cycles of violence,” said Kim Scott, Executive Director of River House.
River House provides emergency shelter, a 24/7 crisis hotline, legal advocacy, counseling, children’s services, and employment and financial readiness programs.
