2023 scholarships available from Community Foundation

REGION – The North Central Michigan Community Foundation (NCMCF) is accepting applications for its 2023 competitive scholarship program. Current and former graduates of high schools in Crawford, Ogemaw and Oscoda Counties are invited to apply.

Many of the scholarship opportunities available through NCMCF depend upon the high school from which a student is graduating, the college they plan to attend, or their planned field of study. Additionally, some scholarships are for students who have already graduated from high school, and for those planning to attend a certificate program or trade school. To be eligible, students must complete the application by the March 1, 2023, deadline.

Most scholarships must be applied for directly through the Community Foundation’s online platform. Students applying for awards will complete one online application and will be considered for any scholarship for which they are eligible.

Scholarships being awarded for the first time this year include:

  • West Branch-Rose City Education Association Scholarship for students graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School who will study K-12 Education at any college; and
  • Luke Kartes Memorial Scholarship for graduating or 5th year students pursuing a skilled trade or an engineering career path.

Students from the NCMCF service area should visit ncmcf.org and look for a green piggy bank image to apply for scholarships from their region.

Scholarships awarded during the 2023 competitive scholarship program are for the 2023-24 academic year and are paid directly to the educational institution the student will be attending.
