GRAYLING – The AuSable River Canoe Marathon and AuSable Riverfest have brought thousands of people to downtown Grayling this week.

Friday saw the rest of the time trials at Penrod’s Canoe Livery, as well as the Special Olympics Paddle With a Professional. The Special Olympics event matched a paddler participating in the marathon, as well as an Olympian.

But activities weren’t limited to the waterfront. Riverfest drew hundreds of people into town with multiple vendors who had some unique, river -themed items. And most businesses have extended hours over the course of the weekend.

Tomorrow there is a parade through town at 5 p.m., followed later by the marathon itself.

For a complete schedule of events visit the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce.
