Local graduates achieve college success

REGION- Kalamazoo College congratulates Caleb Caul of Grayling and Claire Mullins of Lewiston. They earned Dean’s List honors last winter. Dean’s List recognition is earned with a grade point average of 3.5 or better.

Sophie Waugh of Grayling was named to Kettering University’s Winter Dean’s List. Waugh is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the class of 2027.

Emily Martin of Tawas City was one of 10 SVSU students who stood out in the American Moot Court Association’s National Brief Writing Competition, ranking among the top 30 to close out the most successful season in the history of SVSU’s moot court program. With this finish, SVSU also tied the record for the most award-winning briefs submitted by a single university in the history of the American Moot Court Association.

Thirty briefs (15 petitioner briefs and 15 respondent briefs) were nationally recognized out of more than 200 submissions.

Nik Baker, a political science major from Standish, and Diva Patel, a cell biology, molecular biology and biomedical sciences major from Kawkawlin won 6th place at the petitioner brief.
