Credit Union raises 35K for local food pantries

REGION- The Forest Area Federal Credit Union (FAFCU) annual food drive has raised $35,000 to benefit community food pantries in Grand Traverse, Antrim, Crawford, Kalkaska, Missaukee, and Wexford Counties.

Each year the credit union’s branches offer food pantry “bucks” for any type of donation. Some locations offer window and door space to local businesses for additional donations. This year the FAFCU Board of Directors contributed matching funds of $2,500 per branch. Alex Lutke, CEO of FAFCU said, “Giving back to our communities is a core part of our culture here at FAFCU, and our annual food drive has been a great way to help those who need to simply put food on their tables at this time of year. I am overjoyed by the contribution of our members in achieving this new fundraising record. “
