NORTHERN MICHIGAN – On Thursday, Dec. 1st from 1:00-2:30pm, the LWVGTA will present a program focused on the Board of Canvassers and the role of this board in the election process.

Sandy Call, a member of the Grand Traverse County Board of Canvassers, and Sam Gedman, Chief Deputy County Clerk of Grand Traverse County, will be our speakers.
Sandy is a lifelong Republican and has served on the Grand Traverse County Republican Party Executive Committee for over twenty-five years where she has held the offices of Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer and has chaired a variety of events and committees. She currently serves on the State Committee of the Republican Party. She has been a campaign manager for many candidates, knocked on hundreds of doors and made thousands of phone calls.
Sam has a diverse educational and professional background. He holds multiple graduate degrees including a Master of Public Administration and a PH.D. in Political Science. He has served in local government, in grant management and in academic affairs and has administered elections in the states of Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee. He recently supported the canvassers for Grand Traverse County as they went about their work.
