AuSable Animal Shelter earns grant

GRAYLING – The Michigan Pet Fund Alliance, with the generosity of a $5,000 grant from the Humane Society of Macomb Foundation, announced a competitive grant to fund the launch of a new Community Cats program.

After three committee meetings and much review and discussion the grant

was awarded to AuSable Valley Animal Shelter. Their application rose to the top as they stated their local newspaper and radio station would partner with them to help educate and engage the community.

After such a tough decision process, the application review committee approached the MPFA board of directors and asked for an additional $5,000 to supply 5 traps and 2 dividers or equal resources to the following applicants to help get their programs started:

Clare County Animal Shelter
Lake County Animal Control
Northeast Michigan TNR Inc
Roscommon County Animal Shelter/Control
