Sheriff gives out Turkeys instead of Tickets

The Roscommon County Sheriff Department participated in the Turkeys instead of ticket initiative in early December.  The program involves deputies stopping vehicles and instead of handing them tickets for minor infractions, they offer the drivers turkeys or gift Providing resources for the program were the Roscommon Rotary ClubHoughton Lake Rotary Club, Gordie LaFontaine, Walmart Houghton Lake, Jim VanSice, Bob’s Butcher Shop, Houghton Lake VFW, Shakers Restaurant, and the ACT NOW organization.
